Washington police are searching for a woman believed to have stolen two vehicles in a span of five weeks.
Police said the woman took a white 1993 GMC Safari minivan Sunday evening from the 1300 block of Stafford Street. The woman also was arrested for allegedly stealing a car in October.
The owner of the van told police he had picked up the woman at Whiskey Creek Spur and gave her a ride. He took her to Washington and stopped by Stafford Street to see a friend just before 8 p.m., police said.
When the man came back outside, both the woman and minivan were missing. The man was able to identify the woman to police.
On Oct. 8, Washington police said the same woman was arrested for stealing a car in a similar fashion. A 2012 Chevy Impala was stolen from the 1600 block of A Roy Drive.
Police said the woman had gotten a ride from the driver and, at a gas station, she took the car. The vehicle was recovered in Owensville and the woman was arrested.
Police applied for charges in October, but no formal charges were filed.
