There have been no new filings for city offices in the April Municipal Election by Tuesday afternoon.

There will be at least two races in Washington — for mayor and in Ward 4. The filing period was scheduled to close Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Mayoral candidate Nathan Krausch filed Dec. 13 for the seat and will face Incumbent Mayor Sandy Lucy on the April 3, municipal election. Lucy, who is seeking her third term, filed, Dec. 12, the first day to file.

Incumbent Ward 4 Councilman Josh Brinker will face challenger Gretchen Pettet for the seat. Both Ward 4 candidates filed Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Also filing the first day were incumbent Councilmen Steve Sullentrup, Ward 1; Mark Hidritch, Ward 2; and Greg Skornia, Ward 3.

Washington city attorney Mark Piontek filed for re-election Thursday, Dec. 14. He was first elected in 1988.

Hidritch is seeking his fifth term on the council. Brinker is seeking his fourth term as Ward 4 councilman.

Sullentrup was first elected to the council in 2010 and is seeking a fifth term. Skornia is completing his second term after serving a one-year unexpired term in Ward 3.
