Three boaters were rescued after they were stranded on the Missouri River for over an hour Tuesday night.
Three people were aboard a boat that ran out of gas near the Washington Riverfront before 8:30 p.m. The boat become lodged on a sand dredge on the river, according to reports.
Initial reports indicate the three victims were in the water.
Washington Fire Department rescue efforts began about 8:30 p.m. A tugboat arrived at the scene before 9:30 p.m. Crews are focused on the river underneath the Highway 47 bridge.
The boaters were pulled from the river and taken to shore after 9:30 p.m.
Fire crews called for mutual aid from the Boles Fire Protection District.
