The Saturday night concert for the Washington Town & Country Fair will now be announced next Friday, according to Amanda Griesheimer, marketing director for the Fair and Chamber.
Fair officials had hoped to unveil its final concert for the five-day day festival which will open Wednesday, Aug. 1, and run through Sunday, Aug. 5, at the city fairgrounds.
Griesheimer said the artist’s publicist pushed back the announcement because he plans to announce all of the dates for an upcoming tour, which includes the Washington Fair.
This year’s theme is “Your Bridge to Fun” as a nod to the new Highway 47 bridge under construction.
So far it’s a mainly an all-country lineup for the Main stage concerts, with the exception of Christian singer/songwriter Josh Wilson, who will perform immediately following the queen contest Wednesday, Aug. 1.
The other concerts announced include country music singer/songwriter Walker Hayes for Thursday, Aug. 2; a Red Dirt triple feature Friday night, Aug. 3, with three acts taking the stage — Chris Knight, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, and The Turnpike Troubadours; and country band Sawyer Brown, will close out the Main Stage lineup Sunday night, Aug. 5.
Daily tickets for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday are on sale now at washmofair.com.
Season passes will be available after all five nights of entertainment have been announced.
