The number of building permits issued in Washington was down slightly for the final quarter of the fiscal year compared to 2016.

There were a total of 358 permits issued in July, August and September 2017 compared to 372 permits during the same period last year.

The total construction costs for the final quarter of 2017 is $6,256,248.17. Over one-third of those costs are for the construction of Casey’s General Store at 1501 High St.

There were five permits for single-family homes issued in the three-month period this year compared to four last year.
