Walking into Washington’s newest hair salon, The Hair Lounge, visitors are greeted with a vintage modern pink and black color palette, handpainted dressers and decor and fashionable seating throughout.
The look is part of the experience the four local stylists want their customers to have.
“Our goal is to continue to grow our clientele and keep our clients happy, as well as to provide a comfortable space for them,” said Nichole Metts, one of the salon’s owners.
“We want to provide a good environment,” she added.
Located at 1451 High St., Suite 211, The Hair Lounge was started by four local stylists. It opened Oct. 15. The salon is situated in the rear of the building.
The lounge’s owners are Metts, Samantha Ahner, Codie Hansel and Tyra Mangrum.
Each of the women, who live in the Union/Beaufort area, have been styling for several years. They said opening their own salon seemed like a natural step in their careers.
In addition to shampoos and cuts, the salon provides children’s cuts, bang trims, full color, foils, perms, updos, makeup for weddings or other special occasions, makeup lessons and waxing.
Manicures, including gel manicures, and pedicures also are available.
All four women have a satisfaction guarantee. If clients are unhappy with their experience and notify them within 48 hours, the salon will work with the client until they’re completely satisfied.
The stylists also offer a “relax lounge” where clients can have complimentary snacks and beverages during their appointment.
Salon hours depend on the day and stylist. Because each stylist has her own schedule, appointments are required.
