UPDATED: A Franklin County man was killed Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 47 south of Washington.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the man as 90-year-old Raymond K. Kastendieck, Washington.
The patrol said Kastendieck was driving a 2004 Dodge Stratus southbound on Route 47 when he lost control. The car ran off the right side, struck a guardrail, the crossed into the northbound lane where it collided with a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Michael J. Nance, 32, Atlanta, Ga.
The patrol said the tractor-trailer struck the passenger side of Kastendieck's car, pushing it off the road and down an embankment.
Kastendieck, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Washington Ambulance personnel, according to the patrol.
The 12:50 p.m. crash happened at Highway 47 and Country Club Lane.
