No action was taken last week on a request to vacate a portion of dedicated First Street, west of Penn Street.
The request from George and Janet Albers, 107 Penn St., and the Hummingbird Club, was discussed by the planning and zoning commission.
Dan Boyce, city engineer, said he would not recommend vacating the street unless all adjacent property owners agree.
The street right of way is dedicated, but not constructed, between Fulton and Penn streets.
George Albers, who attended the board meeting, said he would canvass other property owners. He said that if the city would vacate the portion of the dedicated street along the north side of his property he and members of the Hummingbird Club would continue to maintain the area and it would put that parcel back on the tax rolls.
The board tabled the request after Albers said he would contact other property owners.
