A Washington area woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with an altercation Sunday, May 12, authorities said.

Christina V. Ramirez, 37, is charged in a felony complaint with one count each of second-degree assault and armed criminal action. She also is charged with misdemeanor unlawful possession of an illegal weapon. Her bond was set at $20,000.

According to the sheriff’s office, Ramirez allegedly struck another woman during an argument at the victim’s home on Barbara Lane, off Highway AJ. The report alleges further that Ramirez was wearing brass knuckles when she struck the woman.

She was arrested after deputies responded to the victim’s home to a report of shots fired.

The sheriff’s office said the victim’s husband fired the shots into the ground in an attempt to break up the fight.
