UPDATED: A 17-year-old Franklin County girl sustained serious injuries Friday afternoon when the car she was driving collided with a pickup truck on Highway 100 west of Washington.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Emily K. Price, Stanton, was transported by air ambulance from the scene to Childrens Hospital in St. Louis.

Price was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on Highway 100 when she lost control and crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2002 Ford F-250 truck driven by Dennis B. Bickmeyer, 63, of Hermann, according to the preliminary patrol report.

The Bickmeyer truck then ran off the highway and overturned, the patrol said.

Bickmeyer sustained minor injuries, according to the patrol report, and was taken by Washington Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington.

Both drivers were wearing safety belts. The vehicles were totaled, according to the report.

The 4:47 p.m. crash happened west of Arch Road which is between Vossbrink Drive and Highway 185.
