There is now a race for the Washington School Board election in April.
Three more candidates filed Tuesday morning, the last day of filing.
There are now six candidates seeking three open seats.
Rebecca Voelkerding, 1929 Bieker Road, of Washington, Dan Haire, 2653 Scenic Point, Washington and Susan Thatcher, 7 Riverwood Farms, Labadie all registered Tuesday.
Filing was scheduled to close at 5 p.m., which is after The Missourian’s press deadline. Any additional candidates will be reported on emissourian and in the weekend edition of The Missourian.
The board terms of Byrne, Jennifer Triplett and Brian Sumner will expire this spring.
Board members are elected to three-year terms.
If a fourth candidate had not filed, the district would not be required to hold an election.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens and resident taxpayers of the district, who have resided in Missouri for one year preceding the election.
Candidates also must be at least 24 years of age, not a registered sex offender, not serving a sentence or period of probation for a felony or a crime that if committed in Missouri would have been a felony, and never been convicted of or pled guilty to a felony misdemeanor under federal laws.
