Loving Hearts Outreach is in desperate need of food, according to Sandy Crider, executive director. Crider said there may not be enough food for one more day.

Typically, when shelves are getting bare, Crider can turn to the St. Louis Food Bank, but the food bank also is low.

Crider requested items that families can use to make meals, such as noodles, sauce, Spaghettios, canned meats, jelly, crackers and other items.

Loving Hearts will be open to accept donations Friday, Oct. 4,  from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.

People also can drop off donations at the thrift store Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Crider also can meet people at the pantry Saturday if they are unable to drop off during the other times. To arrange a time, people may call 636-390-8300, or email lovinghearts@sbcglobal.net.

Loving Hearts is located at 1902 W. Main St., Washington.
