“An Evening of Jazz” at Wine Country Gardens in Defiance will kick off the East Central College’s 2013-14 Patrons of the Arts series.

The event will be held Friday, June 21, with ECC’s Aaron Bounds and Friends Band as the featured entertainment.

A welcome and social hour will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner and entertainment from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The event will end at 9 p.m.

“We are excited to have Aaron Bounds and the Friends Band with us this year,” said Shannon Grus, ECC Foundation executive director.

“The kick-off is an opportunity to enjoy great food and drink with fabulous entertainment in a gorgeous summer setting,” she said.

The Foundation invites everyone to become a Patron of the Arts member, Grus said.

A new focus this year, she said, will be a brand new sponsorship level for employers.

“As part of the Patrons Advantage Program, companies will receive two tickets to the June 21 event, as well as tickets to each of the 2013-14 Patron-sponsored performances, and be included in advertising for the events as a Premier Patron,” she said. “Employers can use the tickets to award staff members, thank customers or package with other items, such as a dinner gift certificate, to donate for auctions and other special events.”

The Patrons program benefits the art, theater and music departments at the community college and provides scholarships.

There are several sponsorship opportunities available for the Patrons program which includes tickets to the kick-off event. An individual patron sponsor can be purchased for $100.

Sponsorship levels are as follows:

Marquee Patron, $5,000 — Includes 10 tickets to the evening of jazz, plus 10 season passes to all fine arts events with advance reservation. This level also includes headline sponsorship for two performances of choice.
