Kevin D. Broom, Ph.D., assistant professor of health management and policy at Saint Louis University, will be the commencement speaker at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School.
Graduation will be held Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. in the school gym.
Diplomas will be awarded to 139 students.
Dr. Broom currently serves as the associate program director for both the Master of Health Administration and Bachelor of Science in health management programs.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi in 2009; a MBA from Syracuse University in 2000; and a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1992.
Prior to joining St. Louis University in August 2011, he was an assistant professor of finance at Army-Baylor University for the graduate program in health and business administration and Hankamer School of Business.
He retired from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel after 23 years of active duty service in the Army medical department, spanning a 27-year period. Dr. Broom has received three Meritorious Service Medals; three Army Commendation Medals; two Army Achievement Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Expert Field Medical Badge, Airborne Badge and Air Assault Badge.
He was twice named Educator of the Year at Army-Baylor.
