Among the 58,282 names listed on The Vietnam War Moving Wall memorial are the names of more than 20 local service members who lost their lives in the war.

The Friends of Vietnam Veterans will bring The Moving Wall to the Washington Fairgrounds Sept. 19 to 23.

During Tuesday night’s city council meeting, Terry Sullentrup and Tim Buddemeyer thanked city officials and employees for help in preparing for the event.

“Thanks to the city and the parks department, we should be ready to roll Sept. 19,” Sullentrup said.

“This is one thing we can do for veterans who can’t go to D.C. and see the actual memorial,” Sullentrup said. “It’s a chance to pay honor to those who are on the wall.”
