The Washington Area Chamber of Commerce and the Washington Town and Country Fair will team up to host a dartball tourney Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11-12, at the fairgrounds wine pavilion.
All proceeds wil benefit local food pantries, said Jennifer Giesike, Chamber president.
“This a brand-new event for us,” said Giesike. “The Chamber Board and Fair Board have talked about working together on putting on another event for some time and we decided a dartball tourney was something no one else was doing.
“It also ties in with the food drive we started over the summer and at the Washington Fair,” she said.
Giesike said the money raised will be distributed to local food pantries through the United Way.
All teams must be co-ed and consist of 10 players, with an equal number of male and female players, or a majority of female players.
General dartball rules will be followed.
Food and drink will be available for purchase.
The tourney will get started Friday evening, Oct. 11, and run through Saturday, Oct. 12. Actual times will be set when registration is completed.
The cost is $100 per team with a Chamber member on it; $130 per team without a Chamber member; and $15 for individual players who want to be assigned to a community team.
