Ward 1 Councilman Steve Sullentrup was re-elected Monday night to serve as mayor pro tem of Washington.

Sullentrup was elected in January to complete the three-month term of Tim Brinker who resigned his council seat after winning election as First District Franklin County commissioner.

He was nominated for the post by Councilman Jeff Mohesky. There were no other council members nominated.

Sullentrup previously served as mayor pro tem from April 2011 until April 2012.

As mayor pro tem, he will serve in the absence of Mayor Sandy Lucy.

Sullentrup also was elected by the council to serve on the Washington 353 Redevelopment Corporation.

In related action Monday, council members unanimously elected Greg Skornia to serve as the council representative to the city’s planning and zoning commission.

Skornia, who was just elected to complete Brinker’s unexpired term as Ward 3 representative, served a number of years as an appointed plan board member.

Members elected to the city’s board of health were Walt Meyer, Ward 1, Mohesky, Ward 2, Jeff Patke, Ward 3, and Joe Holtmeier, Ward 4.
