Enjoys Tot Time

Zach Sloan enjoys himself at tot time at the Washington Aquatics Complex.

The Agnes Nolting Aquatics Complex will open for the 2013 summer season this Saturday, May 25.

The Washington city pool has undergone two major changes in the past several weeks.

The wading pool was removed and made into a splash playground, which features several water spray features.

Additionally, the leisure pool was resurfaced.

Hours, Admission

Hours at the city pool will remain the same as last year, from 12:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Sundays.

Daily admission is $4 for adults age 12 and up and $2.50 for children age 11 and under.

Group passes for up to five people will cost $99. Each additional person added to the group pass will cost $10 each. No more than eight people may be included on a group pass.

Season passes for children age 11 and under will cost $50 and adult season passes will cost $65.

Punch cards, good for 10 visits, will cost $25 for adults and $15 for children.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons will be divided into several levels in which a child’s ability determines how fast they move through the levels.

Session one runs Mondays through Thursdays June 3 to June 13. Fridays are reserved as rain dates.

Session two runs Mondays through Thursdays June 17 to 27.

Session times are from 10 a.m., 11 a.m. or 8 p.m.

Session three July 8 through July 18. Lesson times are 9 a.m. or 8 p.m.

The class ratio is six children to one instructor. Participants will receive progress reports and certificates of learning. The cost is $35.

Aqua Aerobics

An aqua aerobics class will be offered July 8-29 from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m.

The class will focus on muscle conditioning and cardiovascular fitness. Swimming ability is not required for the group exercise.

The class will be taught by the Life Force Fitness Team.

Registration is required by Tuesday, July 2.

Junior Lifeguard

A junior lifeguard program will be offered Monday through Friday, July 15-19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The cost is $115 for the course, which will cover water safety, leadership and basic work skills, lifeguard skills, first aid and CPR training.

This is not a certification program. Participants must bring a lunch and drink with them.

Senior Swim, Tot Time

Senior Swim will be held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between July 1 and August 2 from 10 a.m. to noon.

During this time the diving area will be closed. Senior Swim is $1 for people age 55 and older.

Tot Time for children age 7 and under will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from July 1 to Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at the leisure pool.

The cost is $1 per child. Children must be accompanied by an adult and admission for the adult is free.

Doggie Dip

This year’s Doggie Dip will take place Monday, Aug. 12, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the main pool.

Participants must preregister for the Doggie Dip by Thursday, Aug. 8. The cost is $5 per dog and owner and $3 for each additional dog or person who attends.

Other Information

The pool is available to be rented for private parties Saturdays and Sundays from 8-10 p.m.

The rental fee is $250 for the leisure or main pool. The rental fee must be paid 14 days prior to the rental date.

One lane of the 50-yard main pool will be dedicated to lap swimming during pool hours.

The pool will be closed Sunday, Aug. 3. It will reopen Aug. 7-11 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. each day.
