Missourian Staff Wins 14 Awards in State Ad Contest

The Missourian won a total of 14 awards at the annual Missouri Advertising Managers Association (MAMA) Best Ad Contest, held April 17-18 in Columbia.

The awards were presented by Jana Todd, MAMA president.

The Missourian won six first-place and two second-place awards, as well as third-place honorable mention in the weeklies division.

The awards won and ad reps recognized are as follows:

• Best Full Page, honorable mention, Modern Auto ad, Michelle Charles.

• Best Ad Smaller Than a Full Page, honorable mention, SB Audio ad, Ann Struttmann.

• Best Ad Series, second place, Union Furniture ad, Whitney Livengood.

• Best Ad Series, third place, First State Community Bank ad, Michelle Charles.

• Most Creative Use of Full Color, first place, Oasis Lanes, Whitney Livengood.

• Best One Time Special Section, first place, The Moving Wall, Whitney Livengood.

• Best Single Classified Ad, first place, The Missourian, Jeanine York.

• Best Ad Promotion, first place, Anytime, Anywhere, Terry O’Neil.

• Best Shared Signature Page, first place, Pacific Graduation, Patti Bragg.

• Best Shared Signature Page, second place, St. Clair Graduation, Patti Bragg.

• Best Shared Signature Page, third place, Fire Prevention Week, Jeanine York.

• Best Advertising Sales Tool, third place, Missourian Media Group, Shawn Sullentrup and Whitney Livengood.

• Best Classified Section, first place, staff.

• Best Advertising Idea or Promotion, honorable mention, Town and Country Fair, Whitney Livengood.

The Record Wins Awards

The Warren County Record, a sister publication of The Missourian, also won the following awards:

• Best Full Page, second place, American Bank of Missouri, Jana Todd.

• Best Ad Smaller Than a Full Page, second place, Wash World, Jana Todd.

• Most Creative Use of Full Color, second place, Warren County Safety Festival, Jana Todd.

• Most Creative Use of Full Color, honorable mention, city of Warrenton, Jana Todd.

The conference was attended by Terry O’Neill, Jeanine York and Jane Haberberger of The Missourian staff, and Jana Todd of The Record staff. York was elected president of MAMA.
