The city of Union is getting ready to get into the holiday spirit.
The annual Winter Wonderland Parade, sponsored by the Union Area Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to take place this Friday, Dec. 7.
The theme this year is “Christmas Magic.”
Registration is still open to all businesses, organizations, and individuals including Boy and Girl Scouts, cheerleaders, bands, churches, choirs, schools, civic groups, families, and more (no political entries).
There is a $10 entry fee for all entries and all entries must be decked out in lights and decorations. Entry form, waiver, and $10 are due by Wednesday, Dec. 5.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. at Washington Avenue and Springfield Avenue. The parade then heads on Washington to Main Street.
From there, the route will head east on Main Street to Church Street. The parade will then head south on Church Street toward Locust Street.
The route will continue by going west on Locust to Jefferson Avenue. The parade will then head south on Jefferson to Springfield Avenue and end at Jefferson and Springfield.

The Union Parks and Recreation Department is once again hosting the annual Children’s Christmas Party.
The event will take place this Friday, Dec. 7, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Union’s City Auditorium, located at 500 E. Locust St.
The party is a free family community event designed for kids, ages 10 and under. Children of all ages must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times.
There will be refreshments, face painting, balloon sculptors and pictures with Santa Claus for people who bring their own camera. Every child (10 and under) will receive a gift.
A donation of a canned food item is requested to help stock the food pantry for the holiday season.
