The Union Middle School PTO is gearing up for its 34th annual Art and Craft Show.

The two-day show will run Saturday, Nov. 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The proceeds from this event benefit the school, students and staff.

Organizers say this year there will be more than 300 booths filled with works of art, gifts for young and old, items that interest men and women, food booths of all descriptions, and artistic items.

The PTO strives to have items that are handmade and that are suitable for the shoppers’ needs.

All workers at the fair are volunteers including the students who help the crafters set up their booths, the teachers and staff who help run the operations, and the Kiwanis who help with check-in.

Preparation for the event starts the Friday before. Volunteers move furniture out of the classrooms. The removal makes way for booth.

There are 25 classrooms that have craft booths in them. The crafters fill classrooms, the two gyms, cafeteria, and all the hallways. In addition there are always vendors outside.

There also will be full-service cafeteria staffed by the Union High School Band Boosters.

There is a shuttle bus from the city pool lot in the park that runs around the school and by the city lake and back. The bus will circle about every 15 minutes. People can look for the shuttle stop signs and wait for a ride.

All the profits from this event stay with the staff and students at Union Middle School.
