A Union man has been charged for allegedly pulling a woman’s hair during an argument.
Rico Clark, 27, was charged Monday in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with one count of third-degree domestic assault, a Class E felony.
The charges are the result of an incident May 13 in the 400 block of Brown Street.
A witness reported hearing a woman scream for help, according to the probable cause statement filed by Union police with the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The witness told police they saw a man throw the woman into a window.
The woman began to scream again and the man covered her mouth with his hands. The witness said the man then pulled the woman away from the window and turned off the lights, according to the probable cause statement.
When police arrived and questioned the victim, she said she had been in an argument with Clark. She said the argument was only verbal.
The woman eventually told police Clark had pulled her hair and caused her to scream. The officer reported the woman “feared” Clark, according to the probable cause statement.
A warrant was issued for his arrest Monday, July 2, with a $25,000 cash only bond.
