The Union branch of the Scenic Regional Library has several events on tap for December.

The library has events for kids, teens and adults.

Adult Programs

Yoga instructor Cheryl Baumann is hosting an introductory yoga class Thursday, Dec. 6. The event will run from 6 to 7 p.m. 

Name That Christmas Carol will be Thursday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. Guests will play games based on traditional Christmas carols. 

Hooked on Books will have its December meeting Thursday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. The group will discuss “Proof of Heaven” by Mary Curran Hackett.

Book Bingo will be Thursday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. Every winner takes home a book. 

Computer Programs

All computer programs require registration. 

An introduction to Microsoft Word class will be held Tuesday, Dec. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. There is a six-person limit per class. 

Kid and Teen Events

Preschool story time will continue throughout December. The sessions will be Wednesdays at 10 a.m. 

The story time will repeat Saturdays, also at 10 a.m. The event features stories, songs and crafts for the youngest library patrons.

Santa will be at the library Friday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 5 p.m. Visitors can snap a picture with Santa after he reads a story. 

The 16th annual Ornament Making at the Library event will be Saturday, Dec. 15, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The month will close out with Reading to Rover Thursday, Dec. 27. The event will run from 5 to 6 p.m. and give visitors a chance to practice their reading skills by reading to therapy dogs.
