Union veterinarian Dr. Chris Landrum has opened a new clinic, the East Central Animal Hospital, at 51 Silo Drive.
The practice sits near the Missouri Baptist University building and across from East Central College and Walmart.
Landrum also has the Krakow Veterinary Clinic, located at 3033 Highway A in Washington.
The new center is an expansion of Landrum’s practice.
“We can do everything (at the new center) that we do at the Krakow clinic,” he said.
East Central Animal Hospital offers vaccines, routine surgeries, blood work, X-rays and other services.
An ultrasound technician and specialty surgeon also are available as needed, he said.
“I wanted to grow my practice to give better care to all of my clients and to the pets themselves,” Landrum said. “As time goes on, we should be able to add more services for the community.”
All records are electronic and available at both the Krakow and Union locations.
Landrum said his goal is to continue to grow and serve the community.
Originally from Shelbina, a town just north of Hannibal, Landrum attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a doctor of veterinary medicine in 2007.
He first practiced in Chino, Calif., before moving to Middletown, Mo., and then Mount Airy, Md. He moved to Union in 2001 and co-owned the Animal Clinic of Union, located on Highway 50, until he sold his half of the practice and opened the Krakow clinic in 2011.
Landrum also has been working for Dr. Dan Smith, DVM, in Washington since 2002. He helps with surgeries and the two work through cases together.
Landrum has three sons — Trevor, Miles and Sam.
Office hours East Central Animal Hospital are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. Saturday hours will be offered soon.
Landrum is running a spay/neuter clinic through the month of December.
