A Franklin County Grand Jury indicted a former Union man for three counts each of felony robbery and armed criminal action after he allegedly pulled a gun on three teens.

Shawn K. Aubuchon, 35, Washington is being held in the Franklin County Jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond.

The charges stem from a Sunday, March 16, incident at the Union MotoMart when Aubuchon allegedly used a handgun to rob the 16-year-old boys outside of the business at Church Street and Highway 50.

According to Union police, the robbery occurred at 8:20 p.m. when Aubuchon demanded cash and cellphones from the teens.

The victims gave him less than $10, and a cellphone before he got into a black four-door car as a passenger and left the scene.

Police said Aubuchon’s address is listed as Washington, but he is originally from Union.

The weapon used in the alleged robbery still has not been located, police said.

One of the teens told a clerk at the store about the robbery, and called police. Union officers were at the scene within one minute, according to police.

The driver of the car Aubuchon was in did not know he pulled a gun on the teens, police said.

The suspect was dropped off a few blocks from the gas station because the driver suspected Aubuchon committed some type of crime.

Union police showed still images from a surveillance camera at MotoMart to clerks at other convenience stores and were able to use additional cameras to determine the license plate of the vehicle Aubuchon left the robbery scene in.

Authorities went to the home of the owner of the car located on Highway UU, however, Aubuchon was not at the residence.

In the meantime, the suspect got a ride from Union to the home on Highway UU.

Aubuchon was arrested at 4 a.m. by Franklin County deputies at a home off Highway UU.

Police said the person who gave Aubuchon a ride to the Highway UU home also was not aware that Aubuchon robbed the teens.
