A 26-year-old Union man is charged with felony assault after the passenger on his motorcycle was ejected Friday night, authorities said.

Union police said Justin M. Lindzy was riding a 2002 Kawasaki Super Sherpa motorcycle westbound on Highway 50 at Hoover Avenue at 6:22 p.m. when a passenger Alana B. Bailey, 25, of Leslie, fell off the rear of the motorcycle.

Police said Bailey was seriously injured in the crash.

According to Union police, Lindzy’s blood alcohol content was .219 percent. He was arrested and taken to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

He was charged Monday with second-degree assault and driving while intoxicated.
