Jeremy J. Neier, 18, is charged with stealing items and materials from two Franklin County businesses.

Neier allegedly stole tools and steel from Carter Waters Inc., 6549 Meyer Drive, off Highway A, and also took property from the Quipcon Corporation, 20 Highline Drive off Highway 47, according to reports.

Prosecutors requested a $7,500 bond.

Franklin County deputies were notified of the theft from Carter Waters shortly before 11 a.m. Thursday and began an investigation. Employees of the company had contacted recycling companies in the area and later learned that the teen suspect was at a recycling business in Washington trying to sell items.

Washington police officers went to the business and detained Neier until deputies arrived to take him into custody.

Investigators recovered some of the property stolen from Carter Waters along with items taken from Quipcon, the sheriff’s office said.
