A Union man was seriously injured Saturday after a rear-end crash that forced the car he was driving off the road and into a tree.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report, Joshua R. Hartle, 22, Union, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt westbound on Highway 30 at 9:56 p.m. when it struck the rear of a 2005 Ford Escape driven by Mary A. Graham, 51, Lonedell.

The Hartle car left the road and struck a tree. The Graham vehicle overturned and slid off the roadway, the patrol said.

Hartle was taken by St. Clair Ambulance to St. Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis. He was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Graham and passengers Britini D. Graham, 29, and Hanna C. Gann, 10, were taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by St. Clair Ambulance. The driver and both passengers in the Graham vehicle were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
