A circuit judge has ruled on defense motions filed in a 2009 murder case that’s set to go to trial later this month.

Presiding Judge Gael Wood recently denied a defense motion to suppress statements made by Timothy D. Shults, Washington, during questioning by Union police following the slaying of Deborah Marsch, 53, Union.
