The Franklin County Fair kicks off Thursday and organizers say they are ready to go.

Fair Board Chairman Eric Schmuke said the final pieces are fitting together and Fair Board members are getting excited about this year’s event.

“Everything is coming together nicely,” he said. “We have some new things going on and we’re trying to improve other things — we’re really trying to step it up.”

Schmuke added that there is a lot of buzz around the concert this year, featuring Craig Morgan.

“We’ve been trying to get Craig Morgan for 10 years almost,” he added.

The Fair runs Thursday, July 10, through Sunday, July 13, in Union. Morgan is slated to perform Saturday night.

The Fair officially kicked off Sunday with a parade through Union.
