Full Schedule, New Events At Franklin County Fair

There will be several new events featured this year at the Franklin County Fair.

There will be a public safety and drug awareness event Thursday, July 11, on the middle school practice field starting at 4 p.m.

During the event, the Union Ambulance District and Mercy Hospital Washington will be fitting and giving away bike helmets to the first 60 children who show up to the event.

Also on hand will be representatives from service providers, including the Children’s Advocacy Center, Franklin County CASA, Foundations for Franklin County and the Washington Elks Lodge.

There will be a Mid-Missouri Off-Roaders Mud Run at 5 p.m. Friday, July 12.

The Fair, along with the St. Louis Barbecue Society, will be hosting a barbecue contest Saturday, July 13. The cost is $5 to try the food and vote for a winner.

Also on Saturday, a National Federation of Professional Bullriders bull ride event will take place at 6:30 p.m. A mechanical bull, velcro wall, and obstacle course will be available from 2-8 p.m.

There will be a talent show this year in the Family Pavilion Sunday, July 14, at 6 p.m. for ages 5-18.

Also new this year in the Family Pavilion there will be scavenger hunts and water balloon dodge ball.

Thursday, July 11:

7 a.m. — rabbit, poultry, sheep and goats check-in.

8-10 a.m. — FFA farm mechanics check-in.

9 a.m. — sheep show.

10 a.m. — goat show.

11 a.m. — rabbit show.

2 p.m. — poultry show.

3 p.m. — gates open.

4 p.m. — concessions open.

4 p.m. — Franklin County Fair safety day.

5 p.m. — pedal tractor pull registration.

5:30 p.m. — scavenger hunt for ages 5-7 (family pavilion).

5:30-10:30 p.m. — carnival rides open.

6 p.m. — Fair Queen contest (family pavilion).

6 p.m. — pedal tractor pull.

6 p.m. — antique tractor pull.

7 p.m. — candy scramble (family pavilion).

7 p.m. — rabbits, poultry, sheep and goats released.

7 p.m. — Ben Berges Band (entertainment tent).

7 p.m. — horseshoe tournament Class D.

7:30 p.m. — 16 and under stock garden tractor pull.

7 p.m. — pig scramble check-in (north side of Fair building lower ball field).

7:30 p.m. — pig scramble.

11:00 p.m. — grounds close.

Friday, July 12:

8-9:30 a.m. — beef, bucket calf, dairy cattle, swine check-in.

10 a.m. — swine show.

Noon — gates open.

Noon — dairy cattle show.

1 p.m. — concessions open.

2 p.m. — bucket calf show.

3 p.m. — beef show.

4:30 p.m. — bubble gum contest (family pavilion).

5 p.m. — MMOR mud run.

5-8 p.m. — Union FFA Pet-A-Pet (family pavilion).

5-7 p.m. — Lolly Pop balloon sculptures (family pavilion).

5-11:30 p.m. — carnival rides open.

6 p.m. — scavenger hunt for ages 8-10 (family pavilion).

7 p.m. — horseshoe tournament co-ed division.

7 p.m. — beef, bucket calf, dairy cattle and swine released.

8-11:30 p.m. — music by Crazy Aunt Linda (entertainment tent).

8-10:30 p.m. — teen dance (family pavilion).

Midnight — fairgrounds close.

Saturday, July 13:

8 a.m. — gates open.

9 a.m. — barrel bash.

9 a.m. — horseshoe tournament Class C.

Noon — concessions open.

2-5:30 p.m. — carnival rides open.

2 p.m. — egg drop contest (family pavilion).

2 p.m. — horseshoe tournament Class B.

2-8 p.m. — mechanical bull, velcro wall and obstacle course.

2:30 p.m. — Ronald McDonald (family pavilion).

4:15 p.m. — Little Mr. and Miss contest registration.

4:30 p.m. — Little Mr. and Miss contest.

4:30 p.m. — super farmer contest registration.

5 p.m. — super farmer contest begins.

5 - 7 p.m. — 4-H and FFA payout.

5 p.m. — photo scavenger hunt for ages 11-13 (family pavilion).

5:30-8 p.m. — Lolly Pop balloon sculptures (family pavilion).

6-11:30 p.m. — carnival rides open.

7 p.m. — Kathy Prilwetz Memorial professional bull riding.

7 p.m. — horseshoe tournament Class A.

7 p.m. — photo scavenger hunt for ages 14-16 (family pavilion).

7:30 p.m. — Rickie Lee Tanner (main stage).

9 p.m. — Randy Houser (main stage).

10:30 p.m. — Rickie Lee Tanner (entertainment tent).

Midnight — grounds close.

Sunday, July 14:

11 a.m. — gates open.

11 a.m. — 4-H archery contest.

Noon — weigh-ins.

1 p.m. — concessions open.

1:30-4:30 p.m. — carnival rides open.

1:30 p.m. — baby contest registration.

2 p.m. — baby contest (family pavilion).

2 p.m. — water balloon dodge ball ages 10-13.

3 p.m. — Lolly Pop (family pavilion).

3 p.m. — water balloon dodge ball ages 14-16.

4-6 p.m. — 4-H exhibit pickup.

4-6 p.m. — 4-H and FFA premium payout.

5 p.m. — Leonard Brautigam Memorial truck and tractor pull.

5:30-9:30 p.m. — carnival rides open.

6 p.m. — talent show (family pavilion).

10 p.m. — grounds close.
