A man was flown by air ambulance to a St. Louis area hospital Wednesday after an explosion at Union Rental Center. Initial reports indicate that the man was thrown from a scissor lift on the lot of the business at Independence Drive and Washington Avenue after 4 p.m. The lift was touching live electrical wires when emergency crews arrived at the scene.
