Union police are searching for the dog that bit a 2-year-old child Saturday.
Authorities said the child was bitten at a residence in the 900 block of North Oak Street. After it bit the child, it ran west from Oak toward Roosevelt Avenue.
The dog is described as a medium-sized black dog that resembles a cocker spaniel, however police said they are unsure if that description is accurate.
The dog may have had a red collar with green tags.
Police are looking to speak with the dog’s owner to determine if the animal’s vaccinations were up to date. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 636-583-3700.
