The PTO from Union Middle School has declared the 33rd annual Art and Craft Show a success.

The show, which was held Saturday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 12, benefits the students and teachers at the middle school.

Craft Show Committee member Tammy Davis said this year’s show went off without a hitch. She said the event was near capacity during its two days.

This year was probably one of the smoothest craft fairs we’ve had in many years,” Davis said. “We were very blessed with that.”

In total, the fair raised more than $31,000. Davis said that amount is close to the average raised by the craft show.

More than 330 booths were filled by 287 vendors selling works of art, gifts for young and old, items that interest men and women, food booths of all descriptions, and unusual artistic items.

Davis said she was happy to see students working hard at the craft fair. She said their work ethic was a big reason the fair was a success.

“We’re trying to get the kids more involved,” Davis said. “We got a really nice letter complimenting the students on their work ethic and it meant a lot to us.”
