St. Clair firefighters responded to a car crash where the vehicle overturned Wednesday night, Jan. 17.
Around 9:50 p.m. crews were dispatched to the 1300 block of Peacock Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident and a vehicle rollover with trapped passengers.
According to Fire Capt. Dan Cooley, when crews arrived on the scene, they found one vehicle on its top with two passengers inside.
The passengers had to be extricated because they could not get out on their own. Both passengers were transported to Mercy Washington Hospital by St. Clair Ambulance for injuries.
Fire crews remained on the scene to assist Missouri State Highway Patrol with lighting and traffic control. Peacock Road was closed for nearly an hour before the roadway was reopened, Cooley said.
