No injuries were reported from a double-wide trailer fire in Lonedell Wednesday morning.
St. Clair Fire Protection District Capt. Dan Cooley said firefighters were dispatched to the 8000 block of Rye Creek Road around 11:05 a.m. Deputy Chief Jack Bielefeld was first on the scene and reported the trailer fully involved by the blaze.
An initial report stated that occupants could be trapped inside the trailer, however, Cooley said no one was home at the time of the fire. The trailer is a total loss.
About 20 personnel were on the scene and St. Clair firefighters received mutual aid from Cedar Hill, Pacific and De Soto rural fire departments.
It took more than an hour to get the blaze under control, and firefighters finished around 2 p.m. according to Cooley.
The heat and humidity were challenging factors to putting out the fire, Cooley said, as well as having enough St. Clair firefighter volunteers and water supply.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Franklin County Arson Investigation Squad, according to Cooley.
