A Sullivan teen was injured in a car crash Thursday, Nov. 23, after he drove off the road and overturned.

At 7 p.m., Austin D. Bush, 18, was driving a 2010 Ford Fusion on Route H, south of Sapsucker Road, when he traveled off the right side of the road. The undercarriage of the vehicle struck the edge of the roadway as it traveled completely off the road.

His vehicle struck a metal culvert as it continued traveling. The vehicle then became airborne, landed on a gravel driveway and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report.

Bush was speeding and looking at his phone as he traveled off the road, according to the patrol.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for injuries. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
