A St. Clair teen was charged with resisting arrest last week.
Daniel J. Strube, 17, St. Clair, was charged Feb. 16 in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with resisting arrest.
On Thursday, Feb. 8, while St. Clair police were conducting a traffic stop on an unrelated vehicle off Gravois Road around 9:20 p.m., an officer saw a black BMW chase a Chevrolet Cobalt, according to Police Chief Bill Hammack.
The BMW, driven by Strube, swerved toward the Cobalt forcing the vehicle off the road. Officers attempted to stop the car driven by Strube who fled from the scene. In the process, Strube almost hit the patrol vehicles, according to Hammack.
An arrest request on Strube was entered in the police’s computer system. On Feb. 15 around 12:30 p.m., a sheriff’s deputy saw Strube walking on Mill Hill Road outside city limits. The deputy took Strube into custody and turned him over to St. Clair police.
Strube’s bond was set at $10,000, according to Hammack.
