The city of St. Clair received a grant award from its insurance provider, MIRMA.
Jeff Arp presented the award during the Nov. 6 meeting. The grant is in the amount of $3,375 that will go toward replacing a dash camera in one of the police vehicles.
City Administrator Travis Dierker told The Missourian that the city pays an assessment each year and part of that money goes toward the grant award.
The money can be used to upgrade equipment in departments.
“We (have) received grant awards as far back as I can remember,” Dierker said.
The new dash camera costs a total of $6,000 and the remaining amount will be budgeted for next year, according to Dierker.
The city also has scored 100 percent in evaluations for having and following safety programs the past two years, he added.
