One woman was seriously injured in a five-vehicle crash Saturday night, Feb. 10, on Interstate 44 near mile marker 224.

Jaswinder S. Singh, 39, Phoenix, Ariz., was driving a 2018 Volvo westbound on I-44 when his car crossed the median and stopped in the eastbound lanes at 9:19 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report.

Michael E. Rex, 65, Forland, was driving a 2017 Peterbilt Conventional eastbound when he swerved left to avoid striking Singh’s vehicle. He crossed the median and stopped in the westbound lanes.

Jolene E. Greise, 54, Cozad, Neb., was driving a 2013 Freightliner Cascadia eastbound in the right lane when she swerved into left lane to avoid striking a tow unit for Singh’s vehicle. Greise swerved to the left again, which caused her vehicle to cross the median, overturn and strike a bridge support column.

Amolakdeep S. Bhullar, 31, Bakersfield, Calif., was driving a 2018 Freightliner Conventional westbound when he swerved to avoid striking a tow unit for Greise’s vehicle. Bhullar struck the rear end of the tow unit.

Aaron M. Stoltzfus, 27, Simpsonville, S.C., was traveling westbound in the right lane when the tow unit for Greise’s vehicle was struck by Singh’s vehicle, according to the patrol.

Greise was transported to Missouri Baptist Sullivan for serious injuries.

All drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
