A two-vehicle crash caused injuries to multiple people Wednesday evening, Jan. 31.
Jacob R. Gianino, 26, St. Louis, was driving a 2007 Ford Ranger on Interstate 44, near mile marker 236, when he crossed over the median and struck a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Julieana M. Lowe, 26, Salem, head-on, at 5:40 p.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report.
Gianino was transported by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for serious injuries. Lowe and passengers Benjamin Hobson, 6, Salem, and Brian A. Hobson, 33, Salem, were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for serious injuries.
Gianino was not wearing a seat belt, and Lowe and passengers were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.
