A Chicago, Ill., man was injured in a crash after falling asleep at the wheel in Franklin County Monday, Aug. 6.

Bryan N. Maldonado, 23, was driving a 2000 Toyota Corolla westbound on Interstate 44 when he fell asleep, traveled off the left side of the road, overcorrected, and traveled off the right side of the road before overturning at 4:20 a.m., according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary report.

Maldonado was taken to Missouri Baptist Hospital Sullivan by Sullivan EMS. He was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
