The Lonedell R-XIV Board of Education participated in a board development workshop facilitated by the Missouri School Boards’ Association Jan. 10.

The workshop focused on what school boards need to know about special education.

The training discussed the provisions of special education laws and how boards provide governance leadership to help all students, including students with disabilities be successful.

The Lonedell Board of Education recognizes the value of ongoing professional development to improve outcomes for students.

Based on research, this is one of a series of workshops designed to equip local school board members with the skills and knowledge necessary to function as effective education leaders in their communities.
