Capt. Dan Cooley said the three-story home was fully involved in flames when fire crews arrived on the scene. All occupants had been evacuated.

With the home being in a remote rural area, there was a lack of water supply, according to Cooley. St. Clair firefighters were assisted by Pacific, Cedar Hill, Boles, Eureka, Union and High Ridge fire districts, as well as St. Clair Ambulance and Meramec Ambulance districts.

The fire was contained around 6:48 p.m. according to Cooley, and firefighters remained on the scene to locate any hidden hot spots in the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
