St. Clair Historical Museum President Carol Radford pushes an old buggy she recently purchased across the floor of the facility’s new location next to St. Clair Health Mart Pharmacy, 855 N. Commercial Ave. The museum is scheduled to reopen in its new spot on Saturday, nearly three months after its Hibbard Street building and about 90 percent of the contents were destroyed by a two-alarm fire. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in its temporary location. The museum group continues to look for a permanent home. Since the fire, Radford and other museum volunteers have been planning for the future as well as keeping busy cleaning and refurbishing salvaged contents, some of which are pictured behind Radford. Some other items have been donated or purchased, such as the century-old buggy. “A museum always is a work in progress,” Radford said. “This one certainly is no exception.” Radford said donations still are encouraged and being accepted.
