Don Dauster’s 2.5 acres of blueberries are ripe and ready to be picked. Huckleberry Hollow, 1712 Sycamore Lane just south of St. Clair, opened its doors for the season on Thursday. Dauster, who had a bumper crop of the fruit a year ago, said he has another huge crop this year and that the berries are larger and sweeter. He also said that the majority of the crop is ripening at once. Prices are $3.50 per quart through Sunday, June 22, and $3 a quart thereafter. Hours are 7 a.m. to dusk daily. “It’s a perfect crop this year,” Dauster said.
