Firefighters from the St. Clair Fire Protection District flew their giant American flag over Interstate 44 at the 240-mile marker exit overpass on Sunday afternoon to pay tribute to members of the American Legion Riders who passed by on their way to their national convention. Hundreds of motorcyclists, including some Legion Riders from St. Clair, passed through the area as part of the eighth annual American Legion Legacy Run. The five-day trip started in Indianapolis on Sunday and will end in Houston on Thursday. The convention will follow. Indianapolis is the home city of the American Legion headquarters.
