Several area pastors led a small gathering of local residents in praying for various local, state and national entities at noon on Thursday during the National Day of Prayer in front of the gazebo at Main Street Park. During the half-hour observance, the clergymen recited prayers centering on the country, its leaders, the military, the economy, schools, families, churches and the media. Here, the Rev. Jim Armistead of the Agape House leads one of the prayers as attendees bow their heads and listen.
