Nine local male “celebrities” modeled handbags for women on Thursday night as the Franklin County Area United Way played host to its annual St. Clair Power of the Purse at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. In all, 41 purses were modeled by the men, and women in attendance then bid on them and others through silent or live auctions. Above, Farmers & Merchants Bank President Charlie Butler, always a big hit at the event, shows off one of the purses after he had received several financial “tips” from the area ladies. The event served as a fund-raiser for the local United Way. To see more photos, an online gallery is available at www.emissourian.com.
