The Phoebe Apperson Hearst Historical Society will meet at the Hearst Museum on Sunday, Dec. 3.
Each year, the December meeting honors Franklin County native Phoebe Apperson Hearst’s birthday, who was born Dec. 3, 1842.
There will be a carry-in dinner at 1 p.m. followed by a business meeting and election of officers at 2 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and the society encourages anyone interested to attend.
To reach the museum, take Highway PP (or Sycamore) south from Highway 30 in St. Clair. Go approximately 5 miles. Hearst Friendship Park is on the right. The brick museum and a log replica of the early Salem school where Phoebe attended are across the bridge and up on the hill.
